I went with a buddy to fish for blue cats at Perry Lake (reservoir) outside of Topeka Ks. I had just received my 7’2” medium fast tip from Kade and put a Piscifun Alumix 2000 on it. Suffix 15 lb in the spool since I was impatiently waiting on my 10lb. I planned on using this for catching some white bass for bait. We were a rod short for slow trolling for blues so I rigged up the Kade and caught one undersize blue 30” and an eater channel-mayhaps 7 lbs. we had agreed to leave for other obligations at 12:30 pm but at 12: 28 my friend Shawn said two minutes say your prayers- hey your rods going! Long story short it was an up and down fight in 40’ of water . I dared not give any slack since I knew the hook was wearing a hole in the fishes jaw. Time went by- one side of the boat to the other. Y’all know the routine. Hour and 45 minutes later Shawn gaffs the blue. 39” and 42 lbs. only took one pic and doesn’t show the gut on the fish. Bottom line- this rod freaking rocks! It took all my skills plus the ability to keep the line tight up and down 20 plus times with runs, head shakes and where’d he goes! After Shawn pulled him into the boat he went to pop the hook and it fell out.
Kade rods. Not how I wanted to break in my first one, but wow! I am sold! I have never had a rod this sensitive, strong and responsive.
